Not in the Best Interest of GSA - by Mihan Kim
Looks like GSA is making news again, but fortunately for them, it’s for less controversial reasons. GSA announced on Thursday, April 19th聽that they had canceled Oracle’s IT Schedule 70 contract.According to GSA’s website, ordering activities will not be able to exercise options on existing task orders or place new orders after May 17th. Furthermore, existing task orders may continue through the current period of performance, and blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) will terminate as of the cancellation date. 聽GSA will not comment about exactly what happened to cause the cancellation. However,聽a statement was made by Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service’s Office of Information Technology Services, “Based on the GSA’s review of Oracle America, Inc.’s IT Schedule 70 contract GS-35F-0009T which offers only professional services, it was determined that it was not in the best interest of the government to continue the contract.”...continue reading.
