barbaraI can’t improve on the DOL press release so forgive me for a verbatim quote. All I can add is that it certainly has been a busy two years on the OFCCP and labor issue front. Here is the latest:

On January 28, 2015, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs announced a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) setting forth the requirements that covered contractors and subcontractors must meet in fulfilling their obligations under Executive Order 11246 to ensure nondiscrimination on the basis of sex in employment. The NPRM was developed to rescind outdated guidance, align requirements with current law and legal interpretations, and address the realities of today’s workplaces. It addresses a variety of barriers to equal opportunity and fair pay that women and others face in the workplace today, including compensation discrimination, sexual harassment, failure to provide workplace accommodations for pregnancy, and gender identity and family caregiving discrimination

The deadline for submitting comments is March 31, 2015. Here is the link to the DOL webpage where you can read FAQs and click on a link to post comments. http://www.dol.gov/ofccp/SDNPRM/

We’ll keep you posted on new developments on this and other rules we are following such as the small business changes, the WOSB set aside rules and more.
